The United Kingdom as a Federation?

In a few months time the people of Scotland will vote whether to leave or stay within the United Kingdom. But whatever happens in that referendum, the UK does need to change.

Since the Act of Union was signed, Scotland and England joined together as Great Britain, but this didn't create a single Nation, it just gave a name to two different Nations with their own cultures. This has resulted in this Union pulling apart with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all having their own systems, and only England without sufficient representation, which has, rightfully, annoyed the English.

It is about time the UK had a proper system set up so everyone knows where they stand and also to strengthen democracy here, something we desperately need, especially given our status as an EU member State which happened without the permission or actual knowledge of the British people (we were only told it was a trade bloc, not a European Federation!). We need real reform in the United Kingdom with England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and maybe even, if they would like to, the territories becoming States within a Federal Britain, all responsible for running their own affairs but the Federal Government responsible for things such as defence and international relations/foreign affairs.
